The Forbidden City's new book is released, paying tribute to every guardian of national treasures

Recently, "Echo of the Forbidden City: The Legend of National Treasures Moving South" was officially released at the Palace Museum. Based on the history of the relics of the Forbidden City relocating to the south, the book innovatively adopts the comic form that contemporary readers love, artistically reproduces the prodigious years in the history of the Palace Museum, and pays tribute to every brave and fearless guardian of the national treasure. The relocation of the cultural relics of the Forbidden City to the south is a history of struggle for cultural protection of the Chinese nation. This memory is full of joys and sorrows of many families, as well as the ups and downs of a nation. The Palace Museum and Tencent Animation, on the basis of respecting history, adopted the form of comics to reproduce the hardships and romances of the Palace Museum people in protecting the national treasures during the war. In September 2019, the national manga "Echo of the Forbidden City", which was a history of the relics of the Forbidden City relocated to the south, was serialized on the official website of the Palace Museum and the Tencent Animation APP. The total online reading volume was nearly 50 million, and the score was as high as 9.8 points. In order to allow more people to understand and pay attention to this profound and meaningful national memory, the Palace Museum, Tencent Animation, and CITIC Publishing Group jointly produced the comics into a brand-new book "Echo of the Palace Museum: The Legend of the National Treasure's Southward Relocation". In addition to the original comic stories, each chapter adds the history of cultural relics moving to the south and the cultural relics of the Forbidden City, forming a "picture-in-picture" that combines cultural relic images, archive pictures and hand-painted comics, realizing the integration of reading interest and historical knowledge, just like a book Documentary on paper.
